In Forlì with Families on the Way, a group of Catholic parents with LGBTQ+ children
We are Catholic parents with LGBTQ+ children, united on a journey of faith and accompanied by the Church of Forlì and by priests who support us on our journey.
The Families on the Way group offers a community and spiritual experience in which parents can reflect and dialogue in the light of the Gospel and the teaching of the Church.
The goal is to create a welcoming and confidential space for sharing and mutual support. We meet once a month, together with the priests who accompany us, to tell each other and seek together what Christ wants to tell us through the experience of our children's coming out.
Let us make Pope Francis' words our own:
“The Pope loves your children as they are, because they are children of God.”
Our desire is that no child feels rejected, but that everyone can find a place of love and welcome in the Church. We collaborate with others parent groups and networks of LGBTQ Christian believers+ throughout Italy, in particular with the families on the Way group in Bologna, which inspires us.
Contact us to learn more about our proposal: for us it was a great opportunity of welcome from the Diocese, which allowed us to deepen our faith and to stand before our children with dignity, serenity and love, recognizing them in their uniqueness, just as God made each of us.
