We will cross the Holy Door to live our jubilee journey with the whole church
Reflections by Paolo Spina*, a participant in thejubilee pilgrimage of "The tent of Gionata and the other associations"With christians lGBT+, Their family members and pastoral operators who accompany them. freely translated By the volunteers of the Gionata Project.
On Sunday at Mass, listening to the first reading, I thought that I was proposed by the usual God ICCIENCE, just to me that I will participate in the jubilee pilgrimage de La Tenda di Gionata together with many sisters and brothers LGBT+, family, friends and friends. In fact, Isaiah writes: "They say to the Vaggenti: 'Do not have visions' and to the prophets: 'Don't make us sincere prophecies!' " (Isaiah 30,10).
Often we felt on the margins, with the mouth closed, as barred by a boulder rolled against a sepulcher, deemed unworthy, unworthy, not suitable to testify the wonders that the Lord operated in us and with us and to announce his name that is life, love and freedom to the sisters and the brothers we meet, in the Church and in the LGBT+community.
Instead, that morning when, like that Saturday in Nazareth, Jesus announced a word especially for whom "lives in Galilee", on the outskirts of the sacred, where the rumors say that there is nothing good.
It is he who opened the same roll of the prophet Isaiah, later, in chapter 61, announcing that the Lord "he sent me to bring the happy announcement to the miserable, to bund the wounds of broken hearts, to proclaim the freedom of slaves, the release of prisoners, to promulgate the year of grace of the Lord"Stopping right here, omitting the following verse:"the day of revenge of our God".
Who knows if someone, that day, will have pointed out to Jesus that many, even among his disciples, dreamed of a messiah capable of putting things back in their place, with good and bad, at any cost. Who knows how he replied, Jesus.
Maybe he will have thought about it some time later when, seeing some sheep - in a flock, along the way, or in a fence, near the temple of Jerusalem - he will say: "I am the door of the sheep: if one enters through me, it will be saved; it will enter and exit and find grazing"(John 10,7-9).
It is in the great, profound and lovable freedom of the daughters and sons of God that we will cross the Holy Door and live our jubilee journey with the whole church: a time of liberation, of hope, of mercy where, also there and right there, we will feel expected, called by name, desired, loved, in that house that is for all and everyone. Without revenge, without chatter, without murmuring, without claim.
We will not be asked to remain silent or to close our eyes in the face of the beauty of love that has been poured into our hearts, on the contrary: our step will be reinvigorated and our enlightened gaze to make even more and even better reason for the hope that is in us.
And it will be full joy, because the Spirit of the Lord is on us, and he sends us to bring a double announcement of Letizia, not a wall, but a bridge, not a lock to close, but a door to be wide open: we are loved and loved, a gift of grace and humanity at the service of the Church and the world.
