Jesus went to the Monte degli Ulivi ... (John 8: 1-11)
Biblical reflections by Mauro Leonardi*, priest and writer
Jesus looks to The mount Of olives and sees the place where tears and blood will cry, alone, lying on Earth. at that moment, however, even with death in the heart, he turns to people, teaches and Saves. until they bring him adulterous. she Too alone, also tears, pours on earth: and jesus does Not condemn her but, anticipating her sacrifice for everyone, drops the stones of the condemnation and on the sand writes: "Mercy I want, not sacrifices".
From the Gospel according to John 8: 1-11
At that time, Jesus went to Monte degli Ulivi. But in the morning he went to the temple again and all the people went to him. And he sat down and began to teach them.
Then the scribes and the Pharisees led him a surprise woman in adultery, placed it in the middle and said to him: «Maestro, this woman was surprised in flagrant adultery. Now Moses, in the law, has commanded us to teach women like this. What do you say? » They said this to test him and to have reason to accuse him.
But Jesus leaned and began to write with his finger on the ground. However, since they insisted in questioning him, he got up and said to them: "Who of you is without sin, first throw the stone against her." And, beat again, he wrote on the ground.
Those, heard this, left one by one, starting with the older ones.
They left him alone, and the woman was there in the middle. Then Jesus got up and said to her: "Woman, where are they? Has anyone condemned you? ». And she replied: "Nobody, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neanch'io condemns you; Go and from now on, don't sin anymore ».
