Group La Fonte di Milano
the La Fonte Group was born in Milan in the spring of 1986 by some people who intended to create a welcome place, and together to provide precisely precisely, moments of growth through a path of spirituality that seeking fruitful integration between its condition of homosexuals and the Christian faith.
* Because a group:
The choice of the group as a space to make together this path seemed to us, especially starting from the fact that we consider primary the relational dimension of people, and, therefore, of sexuality, whatever it is. The group can become the place to learn, through the discipline it demands, to build positive relationships, which therefore translate into solidarity and friendship. The name of the group, and the ancient Christian symbol that identifies it, two doves that are drinking with a fountain, wants to make our project with the image: the meetings of people around that source who is the Lord Jesus.
* The report to the Center:
We place the interpersonal relationship at the center of our speech, we think that the source that feeds life is love, and we seek in Jesus the model of a relationship based on love. It follows that every interpretation of the homosexual condition, both at the theoretical and practical level, which focuses exclusively on sexuality, or even more reductively on genitality, does not agree, both when this dimension is guilty as "intrinsically disordered", and when it is exalted beyond its possibilities and its real meaning.
Sexuality remains for us an important aspect of existence, and we believe that even a homosexual person has the right to live this experience, but we also remain convinced that the full meaning of sexuality is realized when it is a tool for communion between two people, a sign of true affection, a manifestation of a sincere and responsible friendship.
* What do we do:
The group's activity includes afternoons of reflection, prayer and simple friend exchange, to which is added a retreating-the weekend from two to four times a year. Alongside these more demanding moments, the people of the group live their friendship on several other occasions, which do not obey a precise program, but are part of the Municipality to stay together on the basis of affinities, tastes and interests that translate and intensify interpersonal relationships. * Us and the Church:
We place ourselves in the Church as believers; However, the group is also open to those who, finding themselves in a situation of suspended faith and research, accepts the initiatives that are decided and proposed. Perhaps it is appropriate to specify that for us faith is neither an ideology nor a moral code where everything is predefined, but wants to be first of all a journey marked by a cordial adhesion to the Lord Jesus, who attracts us towards dizzying goals and together supports and comforts our steps with his forgiveness always offered.
Similarly, the Church is not for us a political organization to be attacked, but, even with the necessary importance reserved for those who perform a driving and magisterium function in it, with which you want, and try to practice a friendly and constructive dialogue, it remains primarily the community of those who try to follow, perhaps in tentoni, the footsteps of the Gospel. In this community we happened to find a much bigger welcome than it is believed.
