The liturgies of the vigils and Sunday services for overcoming homotransbiphobia, all united from a biblical verse chosen online every year, in the various churches, cities, evangelical and Catholic churches that host them, want to remember the LGBT+ people and their family members who have suffered violence, discrimination and exclusion due to homotransbiphobia, often in the silence or indifference of those who were supposed to protect.
They are moments in which to pray and ask for forgiveness, bringing before God the wounds also caused by words, attitudes and choices experienced in churches. The liturgies used in the various vigils want to do precisely this: recognize pain and allow ourselves to be questioned by the Gospel.
Songs, words, testimonies of light and suffering want to make us listen to stories of suffering alternating with testimonies of light, combining the stories of violence with biblical texts that remind us of God's message of love, personal testimonies of violence experienced with testimonies of parents, friends and pastors who tell how they managed to be light to respond to exclusion with welcome and to fear with love.
The prayer vigils and Sunday services for a world without homotransbiphobia aim to question every believer about their commitment to building communities in which each person is called by name, recognized in his or her dignity and free to live without fear (Acts of the Apostles 10.34–35).
