On September 6, 2025 Christians LGBT+, family members and pastoral operators from all over the world will cross the Holy Door of the Basilica of San Pietro for Rome for the Jubilee.
Nello stesso giorno, nei Paesi Bassi, il Werkverband van Katholieke Homo-pastores (WKHP) will organize a parallel rainbow pilgrimage. From Roosendaal to Oudenbosch, the participants will walk about 10 km on foot to the Basilica of S. Agata and Barbara, a reduced copy of the Basilica of San Pietro, also equipped with Porta Santa.
Some members of the WKHP will also be present in Rome, together with the other rainbow pilgrims. Others, unable to come to Italy, have chosen to join the same day with this walk in the Netherlands. As they wrote to us, it will be a way to stay in communion "with parallel activities", making it feel that communion is not measured only in kilometers, but in the same hope shared.
Rome remains the heart of this appointment, because it is important to be together, in many, in a single place. But even those who cannot reach it, walking and praying in the same spirit, becomes a living part of the common pilgrimage. This strengthens everyone in Rome and outside.
In the basilica of Oudenbosch.

With this initiative, the LGBT+ believers of the Netherlands will join the Roman pilgrimage spiritually, testifying to an inclusive Catholic Church, with open doors and welcoming hearts.
