My path of reconciliation towards the Holy Door
Testimony of Giuseppe, a participant in thejubilee pilgrimage on foot of the LGBT+ ChristiansAlong the Via Francigena Sud (29 August - 7 September 2025). Translation of The Volunteers of La Tenda di Gionata
Less than month is missing at the start of the jubiliary pilgrimage of lGBTQ+ People promoted by the la tenda di Gionata and I am still not ready.
I'll do a walk around 10 days before I get to the Holy Door and I have to hurry to get me a pair of suitable shoes!
The reference to the jubileation as a gay person is for me a unique and non -procrastinable event to be done at any cost and therefore i put the rest aside and i concentrated all my energies on this Jubilee.
If I have to describe why I participate in the jubilee pilgrimage of LGBTQ people+ the first word that comes to mind is 'reconciliation'.
I will pass through the Holy Door as I am, just as God created me. Homosexuality is not a fashion or a choice. Thus was born, and Porter access the Holy Door as you are, without judgment and without shame, for me it represents a reconciliation between the Gospel of Jesus and the Catholic Church.
I, with all my defects and shortcomings, are already part of the Church, I feel Church, and I don't have to and I don't ask to be welcomed by anyone!
I participate with joy in the Jubilee and I will walk towards a 'Mother' church that simply and of course open his arms to his own son.
So proud to be a Catholic Christian, as well as being gay and also a good dad of three children! Hurray to be myself within the Catholic Church!
