On the move with “Il Mosaico”, the group of Christian lesbians and gays from Brescia
Il Mosaico is a small group of Christian and homosexual women and men who were born in Brescia about 15 years ago from the urgency and common desire to find a place, physical and spiritual, of sharing, exchange and discussion along the personal path of conciliation between faith and homosexuality.
On this journey the most beautiful discovery is that of not being alone and of finding ourselves on the same path with other people who believe that living one's emotional dimension is not at all incompatible with following the Gospel. At the center of the meeting is the significant and intense relationship between people who live their faith as a living and resolved part of their reality.
The meetings, which take place every 3 weeks in the center of Brescia, follow a common thread chosen in communion at the beginning of the annual journey, depending on everyone's needs and proposals. They are above all an opportunity for welcome, reflection, shared, non-judgmental and non-judged thinking. The exchange of personal experiences takes place in a free and fraternal manner and is one of the aspects that are closest to our hearts, because it seems to us that it has helped many of us to overcome by sharing many of the internal lacerations connected to our condition as gays and believers.
We are on a journey, each at a different point, but available to discuss and tell each other where we have arrived...Often those who are further ahead have something to say that soothes the fears of those who feel further behind, and it is not always so obvious that those who feel further back, don't say something that is useful to those who think they are further ahead... The strength and usefulness of group comparison also lie in this.
To these periodic meetings, moments of common prayer or spaces for cultural and social participation can be added, respecting the intimacy of each one, the needs and availability of the participants and in the awareness of the common thread that unites us: our faith and the certainty of the gaze God's love for us.
Unique, different and complementary pieces of that Mosaic which is God's plan, happy to walk even with those who struggle to feel this gaze and are searching.
