"Knowing these things, you are blessed if you put them into practice" (Giovanni 13: 16-20)
Biblical reflections by Mauro Leonardi*, priest and writer
Jesus recalls that the kingdom of heaven is the kingdom in which one made us serving for love, like Mary, who in her humility has meant that Jesus made himself flesh in her and we could believe in Him, a true man and true God.
From the Gospel according to John 13: 16-20
[After he had washed his feet to the disciples, Jesus] said to them:
«In truth, in truth I tell you: a servant is not bigger than his owner, nor is one correspondent is bigger than those who sent him. Knowing these things, you are blessed if you put them into practice.
I'm not talking about all of you; I know those I chose; But writing must take place: "He who eats my bread raised his heel against me". I tell you as of now, before it happens, because, when it has happened, believe that I am.
In truth, in truth I tell you: whoever welcomes the one I will send, welcomes me; Those who welcome me welcomes the one who sent me ».
