Returns 2021. The Bible read with the eyes of Christians LGBT+ and their parents
We are a Christian group of parents, relatives and friends of LGBT people and LGBT parents. Our life experiences with our sons and daughters, with LGBT girls and boys close to us, led our paths to cross.
We meet monthly to share, in an atmosphere of listening, not judgmental, our experiences, difficulties, doubts, fears and joys, and to deepen the issues connected to the conciliation between faith, homosexuality and gender identity.
We want to do it in the light of the word, which we discover in the Bible, and intertwining our words with this, convinced as we are that the Bible is not the testament - ancient and new - of a God who died and can no longer speak. God is alive and also speaks through our words, it doesn't matter if stammered and confused, as long as they are true. He speaks through the experiences we live, every time we make the effort to put ourselves in the game, to put aside our expectations on our children and daughters, leaving the way that leads them to discover and express this that of unique and unrepeatable is hidden within each of them.
As group "Word ... and words" we meet, once a month, at the church of Sant'Ignazio in Rome to travel and trace the journey together towards an inclusive company and church, where nobody is put on the edge. We do it following in the footsteps Of that Jesus of nazareth, who, on The streets of palestine, shared his life with the excluded and excluded of his time.
With this booklet of "Return of the word meetings ... and words", Edited by Mariella Colosimo, we want to share a sort of report of what has arisen in each 'meeting. As in a collage, significant fragments of the interventions of the individual participants, words and thoughts expressed by each and each one are placed together. We are waiting for you and happy reading
