The Don replies. Can you live your homosexuality and approach communion?
Email of Enzo, Don Luca replies
Dear are Enzo, a man who lived for many years by denying his homosexuality. I am Catholic and I frequent the liturgical celebrations but I don't approach communion because I feel in a state of sin,
I would like to approach communion so much but I would not like to commit a bigger sin, since I decided to live my feelings without denying myself. Can you live your homosexuality and approach communion?
.
The answer…
Can you live your homosexuality and approach communion? Depends. It is not said that all those who live their heterosexuality can approach the Eucharist. Look I sincerely I would not focus too much on this story of sexual orientation, I would rather look at the way I have to live my emotional sphere.
If I love another person (and some time ago I have Written in Rosaria What I meant) That feeling is beautiful, it is noble, it is pure. Certainly it can never be recognized or traced back to the marriage, because that is a well -defined sacrament that is good to remain such. The heterosexual couple, put it as you want, is however different from a homosexual couple because the first has, in principle, a generative power that is precluded to the second (and do not even try to talk to me about renting uteri that if not I take you to kicks).
But this does not mean that as a Church we must commit ourselves to studying other institutes in order to give dignity to this love. We pray for this to happen soon and maybe a few steps forward can be seen already in the Synod of the bishops who starts shortly.
You are peaceful my friend, that if your only fault is to really love a man really and deeply ... there is no problem on your part in using the Eucharist. Indeed, we become friends, who when it is time to deal with the boss at the top, I will ask you for a recommendation to make me go to Purgatory at least :-). Ubi Caritas Est Vera, Deus Ibi est: where there is true love, there is God: start from this, in everything. HI
