A year of commitment, welcome and path in the membership budget 2024 of La Tenta di Gionata
The financial balance 2024 de La Tenda di Gionata tells with numbers and data a really intense year. A year that saw a significant increase in the shareholders (they were 241 at 31 December 2024, and already 224 renewed adherence to April 18, 2025), and an important growth of the Associative activities, especially those dedicated to the welcome, information and support of LGBT+ people and their parents, beating heart of the association.
Revenue: a support that grows
Thanks to the generosity of members and supporters, the revenue from membership activities have increased:
- 4,160 euros came from the membership fees;
- 15,591.03 euros from liberal disbursements, of which 8,290 euros come from the contribution given to our projects from the eight per thousand of the Valdese Church;
- To these are added 2,740.82 euros deriving from five per thousand, donated by 83 people;
- An important item also concerns the other entrances (17,580 euros), relating to the retreats and meetings organized by the Association, such as the three days of Albano Laziale.
Exit: every euro spent to make our mission live
Behind each activity there is a concrete and daily work, which is reflected in the expenses:
- Chancellery and popular materials, including newspapers, magazines and books;
- Graphics and communication edited by professionals; postal services to send free publications to members, parishes, libraries;
- Attention to the identity of the association with symbolic gadgets (Shopper and Rainbow Pins) distributed in moments of meeting;
- Typographical and graphic expenses for the printing of our free publications, which amount to over 9,600 euros, a sign of continuous effort to testify and inform;
- Only the three days of Albano Laziale required over 12,000 euros of resources, to achieve a precious time of sharing and growth;
- 4,284.02 euros have been used to concretely help people in difficulty who turned to La Tenta (for rentals, medical and psychological treatments, legal expenses): one of the most obvious signs of our lively and concrete presence.
Volunteering: the invisible but fundamental heart of our path
A fact that striking is that of volunteering hours: 3,799.6 hours, with an estimated figurative value of over 55,000 euros (if we had to pay the volunteers for the hours, we would have spent this figure).
A remarkable increase compared to the previous year, a sign that participation has grown precisely because the activities and commitment required have increased.
These volunteering hours do not move money, but represent the beating heart of the association: time, energy and skills made available for free, for passion and conviction.
In summary
As we read in the Gospel, "From their fruits you will recognize them"(Mt 7:16). And the membership balance 2024, with all its numbers, is a partial photograph - of the fruits born during the year: Lived activities, built relationships, welcomed people, shared words.
But those fruits, however precious, are only a stop of a longer path. This year we are also facing the demanding passage that will lead us to become an association with legal personality.
This budget, therefore, is not a point of arrival. It is a sign of growth, but also an invitation to all our members to look forward, with the awareness that there will still be so much to do, learn and improve. And that all this will only be possible together, thanks to the commitment, trust and shared passion.
