Whatever you do it do it for the Lord, not for men (with 3, 14)

The Christian community of the origins reflects on how to place itself towards one's contemporaneity; If that of Christ is absolute novelty, how to translate it over time, in the circumstances, in the relationships with which our life is and becomes what it can be? By writing to the community of the Colossians Paolo finds very happy formulas to express the perspective of existence that it comes from the spirit. It is not a question of making charity but rather of being covered with it, taking it as a dress, making it become the logic of one's time by entering the communion of hope, dreams and ideal with Jesus the Christ. Charity is the assumption of peace, it gives a language that correlates human and cultural diversity, generates elements for that communion that can be understood in the formula only one body, a Eucharistic body that is gift food for everyone: beyond the dynamics of the historical season that is responsible for us, in confusion and mediocrity, in prejudice and refusal, crossing all this we will reach the kingdom of heaven. Now we celebrate this hope in gratitude: gratitude that frees and grows, multiplies joy and meaning.

Brothers, above all these things covered with charity, which unites them perfectly. And the peace of Christ reigns in your hearts, because you have been called to it in one body. And make thanks!
And whatever you do, in words and in works, everything happens in the name of the Lord Jesus, making thanks through him to God the Father.
Whatever you do, do it in a good soul, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as rewarding. Serve the Lord who is Christ!
