7 October 2017 at the Sanctuary of Caravaggio Meeting on "diversity in dialogue: Christians LGBT confront themselves with their own church"
The "paths of hope - Lombardy section" association organized a first dialogue table aimed at all groups of LGBT Christians present in Lombardy, to pastoral operators and delegates of the Lombard dioceses. The meeting will be held on Saturday 7 October at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Fonte in Caravaggio
We are aware of how important a meeting like this is that it intends to be first of all a moment of presentation, comparison and dialogue between all groups of LGBT Christians present in the area.
In fact, we know how rich and diversified the presence of groups of LGBT Christians in our region is rich and diversified, and how this constitutes an important fact and an important value, but we are also aware that this wealth often leads to a fragmentation of realities that do not know each other between they and do not confront each other.
The proposal of a dialogue and comparison table was designed with a double purpose:
- On the one hand, the internal exchange between groups of Christians LGBT Lombardi, to get to know each other and make themselves known to the delegates of the dioceses, probe the possibilities of collaboration on individual initiatives that may have a wider breath of the individual paths of the various groups. The experience gained in many years of discussions, insights, prayer and militancy can truly also make a great contribution at regional and national level.
- On the other, Caravaggio's meeting also wants to be an opportunity for knowledge and dialogue with exponents of the Church engaged in the youth and family pastoral care that they wish to know us better and deepen the specific issues of the welcome of LGBT people within the Church. For this reason, the invitation to participate will also be addressed to pastoral operators who have been collaborating for years with our groups and delegates of all the Lombardy dioceses.
The meeting will take place within a day and includes a morning dedicated to the presentation of the various groups, invited to tell, in the space of about ten minutes granted to each one, their history, their fundamental features, their current programs e Above all the future prospects. In addition to this, some significant people will intervene for the Christian LGBT movement, including representatives of a group of parents of children/and LGBT and representatives of the "Young" group of the National Forum, who will be called to provide us with some indications, some basic visions that can be useful to the Christian LGBT movement and to the representatives of the Lombard dioceses.
After the break for lunch (at the Pellegrini del Sanctuary canteen) an afternoon debate will be open for clarifications, questions, proposals. Depending on the number of participants, it will be common or divided into thematic groups.
The invitation is clearly addressed not only to the delegates of the Lombard groups but also to all their members of the groups and all the people in some way interested in the issue, as well as in all the pastoral operators of the Lombard dioceses, even if not directly involved. A advice that as walking of hope we feel to address is to insert Caravaggio's dialogue table within the annual programming, as one of the meeting appointments of each individual group.
At the end of the works, presumably around 17.30/18.00, the celebration of the Mass.
