I will celebrate you, because I was done in a wonderful way (Psalm 139: 13-18)
Biblical reflections* by Giacomo Tessaro, volunteer of the Gionata project
It is you who formed my kidneys,
that you woven me in the breast of my mother.
I will celebrate you,
Because I was done in a wonderful way.
Wonderful are your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
My bones were not hidden you,
When I was formed in secret
and woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw the shapeless mass of my body
And in your book they were all written
the days that they are destined for me,
When no one of them had yet arisen.
Oh, how precious my thoughts are, O God!
How big are their together!
If I want to count them, they are more numerous than the sand;
When I wake up I'm still with you.
Psalm 139 [138]: 13-18
Who among us has physical illness or an emotional problem might think that God has created it defective. "You have been done in a wonderful way" He teaches this psalm, and refers to all living creatures, but in particular to human beings, because we tend to feel defective, irredexable sinners, unable to behave adequately with ourselves, with our neighbor, with the life of our planet, with God. But all our days are written and God knows them all, he/she knows what we are destined for, even if her thoughts are more than the thoughts, Deep that barely, in the course of a lifetime, we can grasp someone. But we must not worry: we can sleep peacefully and serene in the arms of God; As we sleep and when we wake up, together with the person we love or alone and under a bruised sky, we are always and in any case with him/her.
God of grace,
Mother and father of all beings,
grant us to rejoice in your wonders,
because we, together with the life of our planet,
We are your wonders.
The grains of sand
they were all created
from your wisdom.
Grant us to rejoice
while we help our neighbor in difficulty
And when we embrace any form of life that breathes.
Amen
