"A lamp does not turn on to put it under the moggio ..." (Matteo 5: 13-16)
Biblical reflections by Mauro Leonardi*, priest and writer
Easter bread is skip and not leavened because it is the bread of haste, escape, slavery. The bread of the sky that Jesus offers us is tasty, has risen, because it is the bread of those who have prepared a house for us, forever, of those who have always been waiting for us, of those who tell us: "stay".
From the Gospel according to Matthew 5: 13-16
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
«You are the salt of the earth; But if the salt loses the flavor, what will it be salty with? To nothing else, it is necessary that to be thrown away and trampled on by people.
You are the light of the world; A city that is above a mountain cannot remain hidden, nor does a lamp turn on to put it under the moggio, but on the candelabrum, and so it sheds light on all those in the house. Thus shine your light in front of men, because they see your good works and make glory to your Father who is in the skies ».
