Dialogue with the Church

The Christian LGBT+ project dialogues with the Church at all levels, and one of the most important moments was the Synod of young people. We wanted to respond to the call of the Synod to all the young Catholics in the world to send materials, proposals, and testimonies.

We stopped, documented and compared by collecting a lot of material that faithfully reflects all our joys, restlessness, hopes, difficulties and consolations of being young Christians LGBT.

The synthesis of the collected material (which you find here), to which about sixty young people have contributed to various levels, allows us to grow in the ability to build and get to know each other. In November 2017 the document was received by the Secretariat of Synod of young people, and will then be mentioned in theInstrumentum Laboris, creating not a little scandal, as it was the first time that the term campar LGBT in a Vatican document.

How was the Christian LGBT project born?

Following the IV Cristiani Forum LGBT, which was held in Albano Laziale (RM) from 15 to 17 April 2016 (see Adista News n. 16/16), some defendants, all between 18 and 35 years old, have felt the need to follow up on that great opportunity to meet. Thus was born the young Christian LGBT project, "Dedicated to children between 18 and 35 years old, their needs, their questions about being Christian and homosexuals, bisexuals, transsexuals ".

"It will obviously be a place to meet in serenity, get to know each other and understand each other. But it will also be much more», The project managers explain: objective is in fact the elaboration of concrete tracks to reconcile the experiences of life and faith of young people and young people with their parish paths as scouts, catechists, choristers, animators of the liturgy and quantum Other, to make them the architects of an inclusive and integrated "new pastoral".

The young Christian LGBT project is a journey in progress, and from its experience the LGBT+ (PAC) Christian adult project For people aged between 30 and 50..
