22-23 February 2025 in Assisi National assembly of the synodal network

The synodal network, which since 2021 has connected around thirty entities interested in participating in the Synodal Path of the Churches in Italy, promotes for the 22-23 February 2025, at the Pro Civitate Christiana in Assisi, a national assembly open to all with the aim of creating a synodal experience of comparison, but also convivial of all the realities that have walked together in these three years, strengthening the convergence between the groups through the development of consensus texts on different topics, to make known the proposals developed so far (which are traceable by clicking here) and offer a contribution to the second and final Italian Synodal Assembly (31/3-3/4/2025).

The assembly promoted by the synodal network will be divided into a plenary introduction and thematic table meetings (Saturday afternoon), a party (Saturday evening), a final plenary and a Eucharistic celebration (Sunday morning).

The working groups will reflect and formulate proposals on:

a) Organization of Christian communities,

b) Decision-making processes in the Church,

c) Centrality of the Word of God in the life of the Church and in pastoral care,

d) Ecclesial ministries,

e) Role of women,

f) Vision of sexuality and presence of LGBT+ people,

g) Renewal of celebratory methods,

h) Ongoing training of the clergy and laity,

i) Abuse of power, conscience and sexual abuse of vulnerable people,

l) Transparency of finances and management of ecclesiastical assets, m) Centrality of the least and least in ecclesial life,

n) Religious pluralism,

o) Presence of immigrant communities,

p) Relationship with politics,

q) Commitment to peace, justice and the protection of creation,

r) Ecumenical and interreligious dialogue.

Their elaboration will flow into a final appeal, addressed first of all to the Second Synodal Assembly and more generally to the entire Italian Catholic Church.

Each participant will be asked for a contribution of €10 towards the costs of organizing the meeting, to be paid upon arrival at the meeting.
