"I saw the Lord!" (Giovanni 20: 11-18)
Biblical reflections by Mauro Leonardi*, priest and writer
Maria, who had remained at home at the death of his brother Lazzaro because he did not understand the absence of Christ, now seeks, seeks everywhere, until he is the risen Lord to call it by name, and to reveal that the love he is, is love for everyone.
From the Gospel according to John 20: 11-18
At that time, Maria was outside, near the sepulcher, and cried. As he cried, he leaned towards the sepulcher and saw two angels in white clothes, sitting on one on the side of the head and the other of the feet, where the body of Jesus had been placed. And they said: "Woman, why cry?". They replied: "They took my Lord away and I don't know where they placed it."
Having said that, he turned back and saw Jesus, standing; But he didn't know that he was Jesus. Jesus said to her: "Woman, why do you cry? Who are you looking for? ». She, thinking that she was the guardian of the garden, said to him: "Lord, if you took him away, tell me where you placed it and I will go to get it." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew: "Rabbunì!" - which means: "Maestro!". Jesus said to her, "Do not hold me back, because I have not yet risen to the Father; But go to my brothers and 'them: "I get to my Father and your Father, my God and your God" ».
Maria di Màgdala went to announce to the disciples: "I saw the Lord!" And what he had told her.
