"Lord, that I see again!" (Luke 18: 35-43)
Biblical reflections by Mauro Leonardi*, priest and writer
Sometimes we don't see Jesus, but we can understand their presence from other signs, as small as the passage of people on our way. And then we can shout the name of God strong, so that he turns to look at each other, we can forget the good manners to beg for a new look, not that of the eyes, but that of faith.
From the Gospel according to Luke 18: 35-43
While Jesus approached Gèrico, a blind man was sitting along the road to beg. Hearing people pass, he asked what happened. They announced to him: "Jesus passes, the Nazarene!".
Then he shouted saying: "Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me!" Those who walked on they reproached him to keep silent; But he shouted even stronger: "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Jesus then stopped and ordered that they led him to him. When he was close, he asked him: "What do you want me to do for you?" He replied: "Lord, that I see again!" And Jesus said to him, "Have a view again! Your faith saved you ».
Immediately he saw us again and began to follow him glorifying God. And all the people, seeing, gave praise to God.
