The path of parents with LGBT children with the family pastoral care of the diocese of Civitavecchia
"Four years ago our daughter Martina told us her homosexuality. He left us a book he wrote, entitled "Diary of a different daughter of God", in which he comes out and describes his suffering for the misunderstanding of the Church: "For the Church there are these three types of choices: marriage, consecrated life or dedicating himself to others secularly, as you return to this project of God?", He had told her a priest who had asked for help. At the moment we collapsed the world on us.
Believers, we were firmly convinced that homosexuality was sin. Then we prayed and read the parable of the prodigal son so we understood that the Lord always welcomes and does not judge. Martina is in truth and we love it as it is.
The bishop of our diocese of Civitavecchia-Tarquinia, Monsignor Luigi Marrucci, is a special, enlightened person, so much so that in the diocesan team for family pastoral care led by a presbyter, he inserted two parents with the task of following families with LGBT children»(Repubblica, 15 January 2018)
