The cycle of meetings ended "The roads of love. Faith and homosexuality. Possible paths", Promoted by the San Rocco Cultural Center, in collaboration with La Tenda di Gionata and the pastoral unit of Montegranaro. The last appointment, held on March 12, saw the participation of the Jesuit Father Pino Piva, author of Dignity and responsibility. A path of spiritual liberation for all* (The pilgrim, 2024), and by Gianni Geraci, historical voice of the groups of Christians LGBT+ in Italy.
Father Piva He guided a reflection on the importance of personal dignity and mutual responsibility, underlining how essential to build more open and inclusive Christian communities. He faced the wounds left by the lack of social, familiar and ecclesial welcome of LGBT+people, proposing a path of accompaniment and integration.
Gianni Geraci He told his experience of Catholic gay, explaining how faith can become an opportunity for personal, social and spiritual liberation, helping to overcome fears and resistances towards diversity.
In closing, he intervened Monsignor Rocco Pennacchio, archbishop of the diocese of Fermo, who offered his reflection on the importance of a more welcoming Church and a path of real integration of LGBT+ people in the Christian community.
The meeting was organized by San Rocco Cultural Center of the Archdiocese of Fermo (Marche) and from thePastoral Unit of Montegranaro "Veregra Up", in collaboration with theAssociation La Tenda di Gionata.
