Lucky parents. Living your children's homosexuality as believers
The booklet "Lucky parents. Living your children's homosexuality as believers" it was created and printed by the Association “Jonathan's tent” founded by the will of the deceased Don David Esposito with the volunteers of the Gionata Project, to do reception, training and information with LGBT Christians, their family members and pastoral workers in Christian communities.
The 36 color pages of “Lucky parents"they collect"the testimonies of Christian parents struggling with the discovery of their children's homosexuality".
In the preface, Don Gian Luca Carrega, director of the Office for the Pastoral Care of Culture of the Diocese of Turin, which, upon mandate received from its Archbishop, also deals with pastoral activities for LGBT people and their families, writes that "Theirs are heated testimonies of those who do not simply transmit a message, but embody it with their own lives. And life flows abundantly in the words of these parents who have not renounced their role in complex moments of their family journey". Their words are “a pressing request to listen to civil society and the Church, so that they realize their existence and do not treat them as strangersthe". But also a request for dialogue and “a denunciation of the ecclesial isolation they experienced in the moment of trial, which makes us question deeply the meaning of our being Church".
A text specifically designed to help parents and Christian communities to reflect on this theme, also through some reflection sheets and bibliographic analysis at the end of the volume.
The “Lucky Parents” booklet can be requested free of charge, until all available copies are exhausted, covering the postage costs, from the Association. "La Tenda di Gionata" writing to tendedigionata@gmail.com
