Marco Gallo and "LGBT+ people in the parish" on "The magazine of the Italian clergy"

.
The magazine of the Italian clergy, published by the Life and Thought publisher of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, is a update tool designed for those in the Italian Church with responsibility roles (bishops, priests, committed lay people).
We point out in the May 2023 of the magazine The article by the theologian Marco Gallo on "The reality is superior to the idea. LGBT+ people in the parish"(Pp. 354-364) in which he reflects on the presence of LGBT+ Christians in Christian communities, a fact that raises urgent questions because:"If you give space to listening to youth groups or scouts it is even evident that not only the question is posed, but that it covers such a significant space to prove to be even the criterion of reliability or doubt about the real goodness of the church all".
The intervention of Marco Gallo, presbyter of the diocese of Saluzzo, parish priest and professor of theology of the sacraments in various Piedmontese theological institutes and Paris (Institut Catholique), addresses the theme from an exquisitely pastoral point of view by tracing, in the light of the teaching of Amoris Laetitia, the pastoral design that can now involve in our Italian parishes LGBT+.
Recognizing that «On the issues that open starting from listening to LGBT+ believers it must be recognized that the work of theology is still a lot and there is no shortage of construction sites with committed workers. In the meantime, the theological data that is offered from pastoral action confirms that these paths can also be given as a provisional, loyal and in open ecclesial dialogue. [...] Even without definitive responses, ecclesial communities seem to be able to start processes".
As often happens in the history of the Church, pastoral care anticipates the one on which theology then reflects. For info on the article click here
