Dating. When the young heart of a parish beats strong

June full of experiences and news for the children of the Monteverde community (ed. of the municipality of Bojano in Molise) (...) Another formative and, above all, innovative experience for the children between 15 and 28 years of age in the Sant'Emidio parish was the presence of a youth camp held from 14 to 17 June in Florence and Assisi, themed "Itinerary of art and peace".
Hosted in the "Pax Christi" villa, located on the outskirts of Florence, the boys had the opportunity to meet illustrious representatives of the Church, such as Don Tonino Bello, who was president of the international "Pax Christi" movement and who strongly wanted the the house of the same name that hosted our pilgrims. Furthermore, it was also possible to learn about the life of Don Lorenzo Milani, who did so much for young people, opposing fascism with the cry "I care", or "I care, I care about others", a motto which opposes right to the fascist “I don't care”.
Furthermore, in this period of renewal for Italy and above all for the Church, the children had the opportunity to look at the spiritual path of Carlo and Innocenzo, a homosexual couple followed by a priest. These two people have decided to remain close to their faith without having to give up the expression of their love and have demonstrated to the children, as well as great culture, also and above all generosity: in fact, they still help other young couples who, like them, they are following a spiritual path.
A small surprise offered by the couple to the kids was being able to enter Palazzo Vecchio, in the heart of Florence, in the middle of the night and attend a classical music concert reserved for a privileged few for a few minutes.
The journey of our young people continued in Assisi, where they were hosted by the Franciscan nuns of the "Friar Jacopa" community. In this second stage the children got closer to the life of Saint Francis and Saint Clare, as well as getting to know Giacoma Frangipane, affectionately renamed "Friar Jacopa" by the Saint of Assisi.
The boys returned to Monteverde with a cultural baggage full of new experiences, and for this we must thank Don Adriano Cifelli, who accompanied them from the beginning to the end of the trip. The boys want to ask Don Adriano one last question: "What will we do next year?"
