Are we walking together? Becomes a "dreamer" de La Tenda di Gionata
"I've waited a long time for something that isn't there, instead of watching the sun rise. Miraculously I haven't stopped dreaming and miraculously I can't stop hoping. And if there is a secret it is to do everything as if you only saw the sun", these poignant words sing from Elisa fully describe the first years of the company's journey Jonathan's tent.
A Christian volunteer association "dreamed up" by Don David Esposito - A “mountain curate” who passed away prematurely after a long illness, which he wanted our Christian communities to finally know “enlarge the tent” (Isaiah 54) to make room for everyone – is trying to foster a space for dialogue in which Churches can become “more and more sanctuaries of welcome and support for LGBT people and for every person affected by discrimination”.
La Tenda di Giorno was born from this “dream”. But we need everyone's help to continue sowing more mustard seeds in our society and in our Christian communities. This is why we invite you to walk this path of becoming with us partner of La Tenda di Gionata to help us make a difference.

OUR PROJECTS
Our path is made of projects that aim to encourage dialogue of LGBT Christians and their family members with pastoral workers and vice versa. We decided to engage primarily in three areas: thehospitality, thereformationel'information. Here are the projects we are supporting:
“I trust you”, the listening service for LGBT Christians and their parents(from July 2020)
TRANSizioni, a network to give voice to transsexual people and their parents (from June 2020)
Every day pray the Liturgy of the Hours (Lauds and Compline) with us online (from March 2020).
THE THEMATIC WORKING GROUPS
The thematic working groups of La Tenda di Giorno are not discussion groups but operational groups, made up of members and non-members, who have the task of developing, studying and implementing initiatives considered of particular importance for the realization of the association's path. The groups currently activated are:
Gionata Project Editorial Team. It is the group of volunteers who coordinate and develop the activities of the multi-channel platform every day gionata.org through the collection, translation and dissemination of documents, articles and testimonies on "faith and homosexuality"
Gay Cristian Africa group: It all started in October 2019, when a young gay Christian man from Burundi asked for help a La Tenda di Gionata to create an online space where news, information and testimonies can be reported for African LGBT Christians and their parents, to combat prejudice and the violence of homophobia in Africa. We have created the bilingual portal Gay Christian Africa on which we will try to give voice to those who have no voice in Africa, spreading news, testimonies and hope in a continent that has been forgotten too often.
TRANSizioni Project Group: Made up of transsexual and non-transsexual people and their parents, it wants to contribute to fighting the prejudices that transsexual people and their parents experience every day, in society and in churches, through knowledge and testimony, aware that "we fear what we do not know, and we do not know what we fear".
I trust you: I TRUST YOU is an online or telephone listening and accompaniment service for LGBT Christians and their parents managed by volunteers from the LGBT Young Christian Project and it's La Tenda di Gionata with the collaboration of pastoral workers, Catholic parents with LGBT children and catechists/responsible for the realities of LGBT Christians, scattered throughout Italy.
